Artwork Packaging & Shipping Methods
Rartz employs a standardized, multi-layered packaging protocol to ensure optimal protection during transit. All works undergo rigorous preparation tailored to their medium and dimensions, adhering to industry conservation standards.
Tube Packaging (Canvas Works)
Oversized canvas works are securely rolled and encapsulated within industry-grade kraft tubes with anti-dent reinforcement. This method minimizes transit costs while preventing canvas deformation. Each tube integrates humidity-resistant barriers (e.g., silica gel desiccants) to mitigate environmental fluctuations. Upon delivery, we recommend immediate professional unrolling by a local framer for stretcher-bar mounting. Works on paper must be directly transferred to framers to prevent handling damage.
Reinforced Carton Packaging (Stretched/Framed Works)
Smaller stretched or framed items are immobilized in triple-wall corrugated cartons with structural reinforcement. Our process includes:
· Corner Protection: Custom-molded foam or rigid angle guards to absorb impact;
· Multi-Layer Cushioning: Inner wrap of acid-free paper or anti-static film, followed by bubble cushioning (bubbles inward), and void-fill with EPS/EPE foam peanuts;
· Surface Isolation: Protective interlayers preventing direct contact between artwork and packaging materials.
Each box undergoes rigorous stability testing to eliminate internal movement during transit.
